Importance of Colors in Fashion

A color is the visual perception of light. It is the way how our eyes see light reflected from objects. This reflected light give each object a specific color. Colors have a significant effect on human emotions and human behaviours.  For example, blue color is known to have a very soothing effect, while red color has the opposite effect.

Every color has a meaning and effect attached to it. We can think of colors as having their own language. The colors speak and affect the ways we look and understand this world. Therefore they are very important for a fashion designer. A fashion designer must understand the language of colors. It is the choice of color combination which decides whether the fashion would have a positive effect or a negative effect on the people.

In my subsequent posts, I would further elaborate the importance of colors and let you know how to choose colors when designing a product.
